Graduate Student
B.S. Physics – Universidad Nacional de Colombia, Bogotá D.C., Colombia, 2018.
M.S. Physics – Universidad Nacional de Colombia, Bogotá D.C., Colombia, 2020 – Present
Jeyson is working with NV centers in diamond to explore ultrathin Van Der Waals Magnets and engineering a device for real-time magnetic imaging. Along with this, he’s using mathematical methods to numerically calculate observables of exotic phases in Dirac materials. He is passionate about the intersection between condensed matter physics and quantum information science.
Fun Fact: During the pandemic quarantine, Jeysontake his cooking skills to the next level and learned to prepare food from Peru, Japan, Mexico, and Colombia, among others.
An online article and video features Matt Rosen and the Low-Field Imaging Lab has been introduced on STAT news.
Some photos of the group’s outing to Good Harbor Beach from last June have been posted on the Photo Gallery page.
A group paper on Evaluating the paleomagnetic potential of single zircon crystals using the Bishop Tuff has been published in EPSL.
