Our new postdoc Johannes Cremer and summer undergraduate researcher Jinyu Dai are working to calibrate a new NV characterization setup. This setup will be used to test microwave waveguide designs and microfluidic devices for NV-NMR projects.

Summer undergraduate researchers Gabriel Patenotte (left) and Willa Dworschack (right) are hard at work! Gabriel is developing microfluidic chips for picoliter NMR experiments while Willa is constructing a remote-control interface for an astro-comb system soon to be deployed at an exoplanet-hunting telescope in the Canary Islands.

Group alumnus Raisa Trubko carefully adjusts a quantum diamond microscope (QDM) used for studies of paleomagnetism in early Earth rocks and meteorites. This is work done in collaboration with Roger Fu’s lab in the Department of Earth and Planetary Sciences at Harvard.

Postdoc Nithya Arunkumar aligns the excitation light on pl-NMR experiment to maximize NV fluorescence. This high-resolution NMR spectroscopy experiment has the capability to provide chemical information at the micron-scale.

Postdoc Oren Ben Dor and Elana Urbach (collaborator from Lukin group) are studying the properties of carbon defects in hexagonal boron nitride using their NV-EPR setup.
